Conditions of Membership
  1. Platinum membership is available to any member.
  2. Professional meeting managers, metropolitan meeting venues and interstate carriers must take platinum level membership or above.
  3. Gold, silver and networking memberships are available to all members except professional meeting managers, metropolitan meeting venues and interstate carriers.
  4. In addition to the base membership fee, the following formula is used for calculating fees for all meeting venues and accommodation suppliers (Statewide):
    1. Venues with meeting space and accommodation:
      22.5% x conference rate x number of accommodation rooms PLUS $3.72 per seat (theatre style) in the largest meeting room (to a maximum of 1000 seats).
    2. Meeting venues without accommodation:
      $4.46 per seat (theatre style) in the largest meeting room (to a maximum of 1000 seats).
    3. Accommodation venues:
      In addition to the annual membership fee, accommodation members are required to pay a commission to Business Events Tasmania on all convention, meeting and incentive room revenue. This is charged at a rate of 1.5% of accommodation room revenue derived from a conference held in-house or 2% of room revenue derived from a conference held at another property.
  5. When the base fee for the membership level is greater than the sum of the formula, the base membership fee is payable.
  6. The Business Events Tasmania board reserves the right to refuse membership to an organisation.
