01-Jun-2012 | Jetstar recently announced an additional 28 return services to Tasmania. From August 16, Jetstar will be running an additional seven flights a week between Melbourne and Launceston, and an additional seven flights a week between Sydney and Hobart.

In November, the airline will add an additional seven flights a week between Sydney and Launceston, and seven additional flights a week between Melbourne and Hobart. This totals more than 408,000 additional seats to and from Tasmania over the next financial year.

Business Events CEO, Stuart Nettlefold said, "This is good news for the business events industry in Tasmania with the availability of more seats into the state it provides a greater opportunity for Business Events Tasmania to win more bids. It is also adds to competition amongst the airlines which is important for our destination."

Mr Nettlefold is an appointed member of the State Government Access Group which is working hard to ensure optimum airline access.
