New General Manager for Lenna of Hobart
27-Aug-2010 | Ms Lauren Hodder has been appointed to the position of General Manager, Lenna of Hobart.
Lauren, formally the Food & Beverage manager, becomes the youngest General Manager of the iconic and historic Hobart hotel which has successfully operated for some 38 years. Her appointment is a vote of confidence in the Tasmanian tourism industries next generation of young aspiring and talented leaders according to Managing Director Jan Clark. Lauren is a graduate of Drysdale Institute and is currently completing her Batchelor of Business in Tourism at the University of Tasmania. ’Balancing the competing demands of education, work and lifestyle is always challenging, but the recognition of my achievements to date through this appointment, is simply wonderful and I am excited by the many opportunities now available to me to lead Lenna into the future’.
The hotel property is currently undertaking the first stage of major room refurbishments in sympathy with the heritage values of the Lenna colonial mansion and providing a contemporary foil, with state of the art in room technology, to meet the sophisticated demands of the modern traveler. Lauren believes that the customer driven culture and uniqueness of the hotel combined with the modernized rooms will strengthen Lenna’s position as a hotel of first choice in a dynamic and competitive Tasmanian Tourism market.
A ‘Student of the Year’ recipient at Drysdale Institute and the current state winner of the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) award as the industry Rising Star, Lauren has achieved much in her short career and is now poised to contribute in a major way through her stewardship of Lenna and key involvement in the Tasmanian Tourism and Hospitality industry.
