18-Dec-2009 | Grand Hotels International (GHI) announces the appointment of Glenn Robertson as General Manager at Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston.
Mr Robertson has held senior management roles with GHI both in Australia and New Zealand over the past 6 years, with his most recent role as Hotel Manager at Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide on Currie. The appointment comes at an exciting time at the Launceston property with rooms’ refurbishment plans well underway.
Mr Robertson replaces Mr Kym Fell, who has been appointed General Manager of the newly acquired Hotel Grand Chancellor Adelaide on Hindley.
Mr Robertson said “I am pleased to be joining such an experienced team at Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston and I look forward to working closely with the local community. We are also delighted the Federal Government has confirmed $1million in funding for the Albert Hall, which, as operators, will enable us to attract more state, national and international events and conferences.”
Meanwhile, Juanita Trickett has been appointed as the new Conference & Events Manager on a full time basis. Juanita has been with the Hotel for over 18 months, starting out Supervising in Conferencing & Events. In February this year Juanita took on the role of Food & Beverage Logistics Manager for the hotel, maintaining a close connection with the Conference & Events team.
