Real Learning Experience Franchise Launch

29-Jul-2009 | TCB Member The Real Learning Experience has launched an Australia-wide franchise business. The new franchise business was launched earlier this month by the Premier David Bartlett who had previously attended one of the corporate training programs run by The Real Learning Experience. In his speech the Premier described his training with the Real Learning Experience as the best training program he has ever attended. He went on to say that the program had long lasting learning outcomes and was still spoken of amongst participants today.

The innovative, Tasmanian-based corporate training business is now assessing potential interstate franchise bids.

“My vision is to have one franchise up and running interstate in the first six months,” The Real Learning Experience managing director Simon Thiessen said.

“Our business plan involves steady growth, but based on finding the right franchisees – partners in our vision and goals of excellence and performance delivery to clients.

“In the next 18 months, I would like to have established three franchises interstate and in the next 2-3 years around 10 franchises.

“After five years, if we are on track, we will then look to New Zealand, then Asia, the UK and the USA.”

Thiessen and The Real Learning Experience have been working with PWC Franchising in Melbourne to create this major, next step for the business.

“Normally, Tasmanians become franchisees – The Real Learning Experience is becoming a franchisor of our business – the achievement of which we are very proud.

“It has taken some five years’ hard work and more than $250,000 in outlay to get to this point.

“We have produced some 30 training programs/modules for potential franchisees, as well as designed operations manuals, policies and procedures.”

Thiessen has been running The Real Learning Experience since 1993.

“Most years, I do 85-90 per cent of my business interstate.

“This year, however, I have done only 75 per cent interstate, because the volume of my Tasmanian business has increased dramatically – and I am headed for my best year ever.”

The Real Learning Experience specialises in Experiential Learning.

“One of the first things customers ask is: ‘What can we offer that other organisations can’t?’

“The key difference when you use The Real Learning Experience is that we believe in combining serious learning with serious fun.

“At The Real Learning Experience, we specialise in corporate training, workshops, conferences and public seminars that deliver strong and lasting results for real life.”

Thiessen said Experiential Learning allows customers to participate in dynamic and engaging experiences that allow them to experience the training, rather than just learning as a spectator.
