Solid Increase in Delegate Numbers In 2011
13-Apr-2012 | Business Events Tasmania, CEO Stuart Nettlefold said that a 9% increase in business event visitors to the state in 2011 was evidence of the increased interest and demand that Business Events Tasmania was experiencing from professional conference organisers and business events planners.
For the year ending December 2011 there were 35,400 business event visitors travelling to Tasmania to attend a conference or convention compared to 32,500 business event visitors for the year ending December 2010.For the quarter 01 October through to 31 December 2011 there was a total of 15,000 business event visitors to Tasmania; this was an increase of 83% compared to same period in 2010. Overall there were increases through three (3) quarters of the year including a 15% increase in the April to June period over the same period in 2010.
As Stuart Nettlefold commented “Tasmania can deliver excellent venues for all types of business events, from 20 to 1100 delegates, along with quality local produce and wine, award-winning tourism experiences, increasingly well-known restaurants, quality service and friendly locals.
